Nexus 2 closes 2025 against league leaders TOGO

In the final match of 2025, Nexus 2 faced league leaders Tot Ons Genoegen Opgericht (TOGO) in Schiedam. Coming into the match with a young and developing team, Nexus knew they were in for a challenging encounter, as playing against the league leaders is never easy.

TOGO showed their strength early in the match, taking control and going into halftime with a 3–11 lead. The visitors eventually secured an 11–23 victory.

Nexus started the match with Suthes, Merle, Meliha and Marick in attack, and Rick, Merel, Sander and Lieselotte in defense. The opening phase proved difficult for Nexus, who were unable to score, allowing TOGO to go on a seven-goal run to make it 0–7.
Rick broke the scoring drought with an important goal, and further goals from Meliha andS ander brought the halftime score to 3–11.

In the second half, Nexus improved their internal communication and found a better rhythm in attack. As the coach Sven emphasized, the young team continued to give everything they had. Strong rebounding battles by Merel and Suthes supported the team, while goals from Suthes and Tobias, along with doorloop goals by Meliha, kept Nexus fighting until the final whistle.

Although the match ended in an 11–23 defeat, Nexus showed resilience and commitment against the league leaders, closing the calendar year 2025 with valuable experience as the season continues in 2026.
